- Behave in an appropriate manner. Any form of harassment, spamming, discrimination, bullying, sexism, racism toward anyone competing in the Steel City Hacks competition will not be tolerated.
- If you are being harassed/abused or see someone being harassed/abused, make sure to report the incident to the event organizers so appropriate actions may be taken.
- If you aren’t sure what counts as harassment, consider this: If what you’re doing or saying is making someone uncomfortable, that is considered harassment, and it should be stopped.
- Maintain the fairness of the hackathon:
- The project that your team works on must only be started when the hackathon starts. Do not come with a completed project or start working on the project ahead of time.
- Any resources you use (software, hardware, images, etc) must be open-source or free to use and share.
- Do not limit anyone else’s ability to compete in the hackathon in any way. Every participant should have an equal chance to participate.
- Do not cheat, plagiarize or use other team’s ideas, your own previous projects, or existing products and services.
NOTE: Any violation of the code of conduct will result in your immediate removal from the competition
